All your life, you’re taught not to enter a stranger’s house when invited in. However, in the case where you are doing a band promo shoot, it can be one of the best decisions ever. During this session in Federal Hill, after exploring and photographing at Federal Hill Park in the gusty cold winds, we got invited into a townhouse that was under renovations by the Baltimore Blue Tattooed Man (you seriously need to Google this guy right now by the way). The townhouse produced not only an amazing locale for photos of Civil City, but it gave us all an experience we won’t forget! This is a band promo shoot for the books!
I’m excited to share a few shots from the session with these awesome guys. Civil City is a local Baltimore pop band and is comprised of four members – Brandon Tomlinson (vocals), Mike Meagher (guitar), Eric Miles (keys), and Steve Zapp (bass). Their debut EP, Shapes, was released TODAY! You can stream it now on Soundcloud and Spotify. It is also available for purchase on iTunes.
I genuinely enjoyed this session with these four. They’re all around great guys – super friendly and funny. From their serious expressions in these photographs, you wouldn’t be able to guess that most of the time not shooting was spent laughing about all the silly occurrences during our shoot. We ended the day at the Baltimore Visionary Art Museum for a few photos there.
PS – My amazing boyfriend Scott is a graphic designer and he made their album artwork, isn’t he the coolest?
