Eleven years after meeting and beginning to date, high school sweethearts, Heather and Britton, tied the knot at a huge wedding celebration held on the property of Britton’s parents’ private residence in Annapolis. It was so meaningful that they chose to begin the next chapter of their lives together as husband and wife on the property where they spent most of their time together as their relationship grew.
Heather and Britton met back in 2007, when Heather was a junior and Britton was a senior at Broadneck High School (where I went to high school too!). They were both attending a bonfire at their mutual friend’s parents’ residence. Since this residence is only a few minutes away from Britton’s parents’ residence, we drove over there on their wedding day to photograph many of their portraits together after their ceremony.
Their huge, epic reception was held under a large rented tent on the property, with music performed by the amazing Sly 45 Band. Their wedding ceremony took place outdoors at another area of the property. Britton, who is obviously very skilled at woodworking, crafted many of the details for the outdoor portion of the day, including the arch for their ceremony! Britton also constructed an elaborate wooden doorway through which all of the wedding party entered the ceremony, a wooden guestbook, the knife they used to cut their cake, numerous signs, his own wedding ring, and a swing he hung from a tree branch! I loved how adorable this swing was for photos as the ropes were covered in beautiful thin greenery, which was done by Rhonda Kaplan, who provided all of the stunning florals!
Heather and Britton concluded their epic wedding day with a spectacular display of fireworks! The two stood together in the field and enjoyed a few quiet moments together admiring the firework show.
I could go on and on about every last detail of their wedding day, but I will let the following photos tell the rest! Also, high praises to the amazing Megan of Ludic Events for coordinating Heather and Britton’s wedding day!
Congratulations, Heather and Britton! It was such an honor to be your wedding photographer! Working with you two and your friends and families was an absolute blast!
