During 2020, my sweet couples had to endure so much due to the COVID-19 pandemic as they planned their weddings. They had to make the tough decision of whether to postpone their weddings or attempt to still marry in 2020 during the pandemic with their wedding looking different than they had planned. I have felt so deeply for them all.
Before COVID-19 became an issue for us in March, I had 38 couples contracted with me for their 2020 weddings. Fourteen of these couples actually were married during the year. Only 4 of these couples were able to hold their weddings on their original dates at their original venues and pretty much as they had planned, although with reduced guest counts! There was one lucky couple that married in January 2020 free from all of the concerns of the pandemic. The remaining 9 couples chose to marry during 2020 at vastly different locations or to have an intimate ceremony and postpone their larger celebration to 2021.
Of the 24 couples that did not marry during 2020, 23 have contracts now for 2021 or 2022 weddings. Many of my 38 couples had to postpone more than once as the pandemic has lasted longer and surged more than earlier projections. But through it all, I witnessed so much love, strength, patience, and resilience displayed as they had to face the unthinkable disappointments of having to change or postpone their weddings!
The following photos provide a brief summary of each of the 14 lovely and heartfelt weddings I photographed during 2020.

Claire and TJ – See you again in 2021!
Just days before their wedding, Anne Arundel County issued a mandate that limited indoor gatherings to no more than 10 people.
So, Claire and TJ decided to share their first dance and other socially distanced dancing at Annapolis City Dock.
