On September 22, 2013 I had the honor and definite pleasure of photographing the wedding of Brianna and Landon at Celebrations at the Bay in Pasadena, MD. The bride and groom are both graduates of Towson University where they met at an Intervarsity activity known as the annual Rita’s Walk in the fall of 2010.
They became engaged on February 16, 2013 during a hike on Wye Island on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Landon got down on one knee. Presenting her with a diamond engagement ring, he said, “There’s just one question I want to ask you – will you marry me?” Brianna, so excited, could only nod her head and speak a barely audible “yes.”
During the spring, Landon joined the United States Air Force. The couple maintained a long distance relationship until he returned to the area a couple of weeks before their wedding. Then several days after their ceremony, they moved to California where Landon is stationed.
The weather was breezy but mild for Brianna and Landon’s 6:00 pm formal wedding. The wind added an interesting detail to some of the memorable photos. The bride’s veil occasionally blew with the breezes, and the lovely periwinkle floor-length gowns of the bride’s attendants billowed on the deck during the ceremony!
Brianna chose purple, periwinkle and navy as the colors for the event. (I wonder whether navy was chosen so as to coordinate with the groom’s Air Force blue dress uniform!) A lot of thoughtful detail went into carrying out the color theme, including the deep purple sashes on the bridesmaids’ gowns and the navy sash worn by the maid of honor, the bride’s sister. The decorations and reception room carried on this color theme as well.
Family means a lot to both this bride and groom as evidenced throughout their wedding. And, it is very apparent that these two are very much in love with each other.
Congratulations, Brianna and Landon! It was such an honor and joy to photograph your day!
Thank you so much for capturing all these wonderful memories. I am so proud to show off my photos and I know I will continue to for the rest of my life. My house has so many photos from the wedding because I couldn’t decide which ones I liked best. You are such a wonderful person and I’m so glad my husband and I have met you!! I hope you continue on and achieve all you’re setting out to do! You can do it because you are that amazing!! Thank you again!
